Lutheran South's Ella Arbeiter aims for strong season before heading to Rutgers
Arbeiter brushed any naysayers aside recently when she signed to swim in the Big Ten Conference at Rutgers.

But given the opportunity since then to rub that in the faces of those who doubted her, Arbeiter has chosen to take the high road.
“You would assume it’s gonna make you feel like, ‘Haha, I did it,’ ” she said. “But honestly when (Rutgers coach Jon Maccoll) offered me this spot, I just had immense gratitude and I felt honored. It wasn’t the ‘haha’ I thought it would be. It was very much just like a thanks to God.”
Lutheran South coach Annie Hiers said Arbeiter’s commitment to aim higher really began more than a year ago.
