The Academic & College Counseling Department is an integral part of the educational program at Lutheran High School South. Our counseling professionals nurture students in their spiritual, academic, emotional and social development. Counselors use a proactive, developmental approach to assist students in making wise decisions personally, academically and vocationally. They assist students in choosing a balanced program of studies, in understanding themselves, and in selecting the courses required for college admission or other vocational choices.
Our university partnerships
Lutheran South offers a variety of courses in a rigorous academic program, including Theology, English, Mathematics, Social Science, Science, Foreign Languages, Health and Physical Education, Business Education, Family and Consumer Sciences, Industrial Technology, Art and Music.
We offer Advanced Placement (AP) courses, as well as dual-enrollment classes through Saint Louis University. Lancers routinely graduate with a semester's worth of college credit.
Lutheran South has been continuously accredited by AdvanceED (formerly North Central) since its founding. AdvancED is the largest community of educational professionals in the world. It conducts rigorous, on-site external reviews of Pre-K through 12th-grade schools and school systems to ensure that all learners realize their full potential as learners.
